South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard visits FURD

On 17th September, we had the privilege of hosting South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard at the U-Mix Centre. Oliver has a long-standing relationship with FURD, going back to the early 2000s when he was an integral part of FURD’s Sharrow United FC. 

The mayor and our founder, Howard, shared some wonderful memories and stories, and we also had a meaningful discussion about our current cohesion work at FURD and the impact of our recent national conference. We took the chance to highlight our ongoing partnership with Sheffield City Council and shared ideas on exploring the Cohesion Good Practice Model that FURD has developed through over 30 years of community work.
