Lamine Sidibe wins a scholarship with the Blades

We are pleased to report that 16-year-old Lamine Sidibe has won a scholarship to Sheffield United for the next two years.

Lamine was recommended to Sheffield United by FURD coach and scout Luis Silva in 2020, after he'd attended our coaching sessions at the U-Mix Centre for around a year. 

Following Luis's recommendation, he went on a month's trial at Sheffield United and signed for their Academy in 2020.

This photo was taken in 2023 when he came back to see his former coaches Luis (on the right) and Oday Ibrahim.

Luis said, "I'm very happy that Lamine has signed for Sheffield United, especially as they are now a Premiership club, and I'm looking forward to hearing about his progress. I hope he has a bright future ahead of him".
