Walking football

FURD

Walking Football at the U-Mix Centre takes place every Tuesday from 1pm-2pm.

Football Unites Racism Divides’ long-standing partnership with Shipshape Health and Wellbeing has allowed for the continuation of the much sought-after walking football!

‘The walking football sessions are friendly, and very welcoming. Everyone at our sessions gets along and there is nothing but a positive vibe around the group.’ - Phil Eddyshaw from Shipshape.

‘The rules are simplified and adapted to create a less intense game; the focus is only really on “no running”. ‘ Phil also said ‘we don’t want people to think this game is one for only the older generations amongst us, as this would be far from the truth, everyone is welcome and we have a very diverse group with regards to gender and age.’

Open to men and women of all ages, this is a non-contact adaptation of football, and for just £1 unwaged or £2 waged, per session, it's a great way to stay active, improve your mental and physical health, meet new people and have fun! So whether you’re a lover of the game who enjoys a more relaxed intensity and approach to activity, wants to take part for mobility reasons or simply just wants to try something new, feel free to come along and give it a try!

For more information please contact us, or just come along on the day.
