‘Football Unites’ Millennium Volunteers scheme is teaming up with Sheffield Futures South-West team again to offer local young people the chance to gain a qualification and some experience of youth work. The ‘Youth Developing Communities’ course was first run earlier this year and was so successful it’s now being offered to more young people. Applicants should be 16-24 years old and while the funding has been provided primarily to work with young people from the Somali, Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities in the Sharrow, Nether Edge and Broomhall areas of Sheffield, applications from all young people in this age bracket are welcome.
The course will run from December to March on Wednesdays from 6-9pm and participants will also need to do a weekly placement in a youth centre. If you’re interested in doing the course, phone us on 0114 2553165 and ask for Mehrun or Simon, or email.
