FURD has now made available a portable version of the 'Offside!' exhibition about the history of South African footballers in Britain. The full scale multimedia version of the exhibition, for which FURD undertook most of the research, is still on show at the District Six Museum in Cape Town.
FURD has reproduced as much as possible of the exhibition in the form of 60 A3 posters, with about half being illustrations of players and the other half being a mix of images and text relating to the players. Each text panel includes what the District Six Museum has called an 'Offside moment', which is one example of how the player was affected by society's attitudes towards race and nationality in both South Africa and Britain.
