Sharrow United goalkeeper Naveed Ahmed has been called up for a two week training camp with the Pakistani national football squad

Naveed from Fir Vale in Sheffield is one of a trio of England-based footballers to have been invited to Pakistan for a special two-week training camp at the end of January.

Naveed, who works at The Valley gym in the English Institute of Sport will be joined by defender Zesh Rehman of Fulham, and Huddersfield midfielder Adnan Ahmed for the trials in Islamabad.

"Out of the three UK-based players selected for trials I´m the only one not playing professional football at the moment," said Naveed.

"But I´ve been training very hard, both at The Valley and out on the football pitch, and I´m really looking forward to showing the national team set-up what I can do."
