Sharrow United closed in on the Meadowhall Sunday League Division One title with a crucial 4-1 win at chief challengers SWD. After a goalless first half the home side went 1-0 up early in the second half but veteran striker Ifty Afzal hit back with two goals in quick succession. John Lufudu then coolly slotted home after rounding the SWD keeper before Bjorn Taylor made the game safe with 10 minutes to go. Sharrow moved 4 points clear of SWD at the top and, unbeaten in the league, are now strong favourites to clinch the Div 1 title, needing three wins out of their last four games to make certain. The crunch return fixture with SWD is set for next Sunday at Warminster Road. Be there!
