Sharrow new management team off to winning start

Sharrow United, under the new management team of Vill Powell and John Sulph, got their season off to a winning start in a seven goal thriller against Brunsmeer Athletic.

After a fine opening spell which saw goals from Asim Shazad and Bjorn Taylor open up a 2-0 lead, Sharrow were rocked either side of half-time as newly-promoted Brunsmeer netted three times to go ahead on the hour mark.

However a stunning strike from Taylor levelled things up soon after, and fears of yet another 3-3 opening day scoreline were eased when Taylor claimed his hat-trick with a coolly taken penalty, after himself being brought down in the box.

Hopes are high for promotion to the Premier Division of the Meadowhall Sunday League this season after the team finished in third spot last campaign.
