RIP Frank Arrowsmith

FURD is very saddened to hear of the passing of Frank Arrowsmith, a proud miner at Yorkshire Main Colliery who was a great friend of FURD, and trustee Kev Titterton in particular. 

Frank saw clearly the importance of the connection between the miners' struggle in the 1980s and Arthur Wharton's twenty years as a haulage hand at the same mine 60 years earlier.

Frank was a special guest of FURD at the launch of the Arthur Wharton educational resources in 2013 at the U-Mix Centre along with members of the Wharton family, Darren Moore and current Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.
