Refugee Week football tournament

Galeed Giants succesfully held on to the title of All Nations champions by winning the annual tournament for refugees in Sheffield on 30 June 2007. Football Unites teamed up with Abbeydale Grange School to run the football tournament as part of the school's International Summer Event. The tournament, run in partnership with Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, was held as part of Refugee Week and mainly featured teams made up of refugees and asylum-seekers living in the Sheffield area. The Fair Play Award was won by the Academy FC who were also runners up in the tournament. The event was held at Abbeydale Grange School fields on Carterknowle Road.
