Porter United in Cup semi

Porter United, made up of local Somali players, secured a place in the Look Local Hallamshire Nomads Cup semi-final with a thumping 7-3 victory over unbeaten Division One tabletoppers Northern Avenue.

A close tie had been expected due to Northern Avenue's fantastic record this season, but Porter went 2-0 up in the first half and the result was never in any real doubt, despite the best efforts of their opponents.

Striker Mohamed Ahmed excelled with a fine hat-trick, the other goals coming from Abdullah Ahmed, Ibrahim Mohamed, Warsame Abdi and Ahmed Ali.
