New sports and community facilities becoming a reality

FURD workers have been on a site visit to view progress on our new home.

The U-Mix Centre, on Lowfield Open Space between Queens Road and Bramall Lane in Sheffield, will house new youth and community facilities as well as football pitches and office space for FURD.

The rest of the open space has also had a makeover with new public play facilities including a zip wire and 'outdoor gym' equipment. The building, which has a publicly accessible roof garden, is due for completion in May and we are due to move in this summer.

The project was made possible by funding from the government's Myplace programme and we are working in partnership with Sheffield City Council, which owns the building.
