FURD
Next season FURD, along with Sheffield Connexions, will be giving its support to a new under-18 11-a-side team, Surud United, which is hoping to enter the Sheffield & District DB Sports Under-18 League. The team consists mainly of young people from Somaliland and has grown from FURD-run coaching sessions run by Mursal Ahmed, who will be coaching the team.
The team recently travelled to Liverpool, to play a friendly against Liverpool Somaliland, in which they came back from 3-1 behind to draw 5-5. They would like to thank Ahmed Mahamud from Connexions for organising the trip and driving them there and back.
