FURD has teamed up with Sheffield Hallam University to host a new film club, `Cine-Mix`, for young people aged around 14-19.

Film shows will be at the U-Mix Centre and entry will be FREE. The events will include the chance to discuss the films and any issues they raise as well as to meet other young people.

The next film club night will be this Friday, 10th January from 6.00-9.00pm and the film will be `Man of Steel`:

`A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.` (Warner Bros).

The intention is to then hold a `Cine-Mix`night on the first Friday of each month from February.

The film club, which is operating under the British Film Institute's Film Nation UK scheme, was initiated by Dr Emmie McFadden, lecturer in Film Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, whose first involvement with FURD was through FURD's female football initiative.
