Mondiali Antirazzisti

FURD staff and volunteers have just returned from a trip to Italy to take part in the annual Anti-Racist World Cup, a friendly tournament and meeting-place for anti-racists based in Montecchio, Italy. This year the tournament attracted a record 168 7-a-side teams including male, female and mixed teams from 16 countries. Trophies were awarded not only for success on the football pitch but also for more important things like helping to clean up the venue, cooking for other teams, and organising anti-racist events. FURD entered 4 teams - Real Bengal, Somaliland Blades, FURD Bullets and FURD Women All-Stars - and was awarded the Faithful Cup for having participated in the tournament for the last 6 years. We also had a stall giving away newsletters and stickers, and selling our badges and new T-shirts.
