FURD
On Saturday 19th November 2016, Sheffield United dedicated their match against Shrewsbury to supporting Kick it Out, football's equality and inclusion organisation.
Young people involved in FURD's coaching programmes were among those given free tickets for the match. Girls from our Tuesday and Saturday football coaching sessions carried a Kick It Out flag around the pitch before the match and to greet the teams as they came out.
Girls and boys also enjoyed taking penalties on the pitch at half time.
For most of the girls it was the first match they'd been to and it was a memorable experience, with plenty of incidents on the pitch culminating in a 2-1 win for United.
