FURD's work to support refugees and asylum-seekers is the subject of a feature shown on BBC Football Focus on Saturday 21st May 2022 and on the BBC Sport website.

The film shows how we offer a combination of football and food to engage with refugees and asylum-seekers. This can then enable us to offer support with accessing routes into education, training and paid or voluntary work - as our joint CEO Simon Hyacinth put it, to 'survive and thrive in an alien country'.

The team that made the feature includes locals Usmaan Akhtar and Miriam Walker-Khan. We love to see young people from our local community shining!
