FURD
On 2nd September 2018, FURD organised an Eid festival for the community in Lowfield Park and the U-Mix Centre. The festival was held just after Eid- Al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice which follows the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
The Eid festival was a family occasion welcoming people of all faiths and none. Attractions included rides, face painting and inflatables for children, a bazaar, henna, a barbecue, Streetkick mobile football pitch and more.
It also provided an opportunity for more people to find out about the work of FURD and the facilities available at the U-Mix Centre.
Additionally the event raised over £150 for St Luke's Hospice.
