The FURD team will be out and about in the Sheffield and Rotherham area over the summer holidays with Streetkick, our mobile 3-a-side football pitch, and coaching schools. Summer soccer schools: We’ll be running FREE week-long coaching schools in four locations across Sheffield, as follows: 29th July-2nd Aug: Darnall; 5th-9th Aug: Mount Pleasant Park; 19th-23rd Aug: Parkwood High School. All sessions run from 10am till 3pm.
Additionally the year-round coaching school at Sheffield Works Department, Heeley Bank Road, is still happening on Saturdays from 12 till 2pm.
Work with refugees and asylum seekers: FURD has teamed up with the Northern Refugee Centre, thanks to a grant from the Home Office Refugee Integration Unit, to run some free football coaching and a tournament for refugees and asylum seekers. The sessions are at Goodwin Sports Centre, Northumberland Road, Sheffield, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7th to 30th August, 4-6pm. People wanting to attend must register before 7th August – contact FURD for details of how to register.
