FURD is pleased to be hosting part of The Google Digital Garage bus tour.

The bus will be parked at the U-Mix Centre (by the chime dance floor) on Friday 4th and 11th August (10:00am to 6pm) and will offer free courses from how to Build a CV to Social Media Strategy. It will also offer free one to one coaching on digital skills. Here's the plan for 11th August:

11.00 - 12.00: Stay Safe Online

1.00 - 2.30: Build a CV

3.00 - 4.00: Writing for social media.

All day: One-to-one mentoring sessions: in half-hour slots on a first come basis.

Google launched its Digital Garage in Sheffield city centre in April 2017 as part of Google's commitment to provide free digital skills training to everyone across the UK. The garages aim to offer

"a place where anyone can come and learn how to harness the power of the internet to grow their business, develop new vocational skills or grow their confidence online".

There's been high demand for training at the Google Digital Garage, but the new bus will travel to over 30 locations in South Yorkshire to try to reach people who can't make it into the Sheffield city centre.

The Google Digital Garage bus offers free face-to-face coaching for everyone - from growing your confidence online, to learning skills for the next step in your career, or even starting your own business. Whatever you want to do, digital skills can help. Make an appointment or just drop in.
