We held our annual All Nations Football Festival on Saturday 30th September at the U-Mix Centre, designed to promote the inclusion of refugees and asylum-seekers in football.
The event went well with ten teams taking part. There was a good mix of attendees, including a Refugee Council team, Syria United, a Rotherham United (Kicks) team, Salvation Army, two mainly Somali teams representing the Unity Gym, the African Dream Team and our own team from our Belonging group for refugees & asylum-seekers. The tournament was won by the African Dream Team, who beat a Unity Gym side in the final.
Off the pitch, the Google Bus was on hand to provide free digital skills advice and training, and food was provided by our new neighbours the Desi Cafe. The event was supported by Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association.
Congratulations to all the players and thanks very much to everyone who supported the event.
