Football Unites is supporting the following activities for Black History Month :

Monday 2nd – Friday 6th October. History of Black Footballers featuring the Arthur Wharton Exhibition. Talks and other activities can be arranged on request. Mount Pleasant Community Centre lounge, Sharrow Lane. 10am to 4pm Mon-Thurs, 10am-1pm Friday.

Saturday 7th October: Football Poets: Celebrate the multicultural aspects of football at this fun poetry workshop for 10-14 year olds.
Sheffield United Academy, Firs Hill Crescent. Free but places must be booked. 11am-1pm. Part of Sheffield's 'Off the Shelf' festival of reading and writing.

Saturday 7th October: Swapping Shirts with Shakespeare…and the Football Poets: Performance poets and young people from the Football Poets workshop (above). The Showroom, Sheffield, 7pm. £5/£4. Part of Sheffield's 'Off the Shelf' festival of reading and writing.

Our History of Black Footballers and Arthur Wharton exhibitions will be on tour throughout the month, taking in schools in Huddersfield and Accrington, and local events for Home Office staff, care leavers, children, dads and amateur footballers!
