Arthur Wharton the miner remembered

A FURD-sponsored brick, in memory of Arthur Wharton, has been placed on the Commemorative Wall in the Yorkshire Main Commemorative Trust's Memorial Garden.
The garden, which is adjacent to the Yorkshire Main Community Centre in Edlington, Doncaster, has been developed by the Trust in memory of all those miners who lost their lives working at the mine.
Within that garden a wall has been built where each brick can be sponsored in honour of a friend or relative who worked at the colliery.
Arthur worked there from 1915 through to his death in 1930.
FURD's sponsoring of the brick means that Arthurs memory is now honoured alongside many of his comrades
