Arthur Wharton project well under way

11 Jan 2012 / News

Young people from Westbourne School, Sheffield have been creating some great art work inspired by the story of Arthur Wharton. The workshops took place as part of FURD's Arthur Wharton Heritage Project, and also included a visit from Wharton's grand-daughter, Sheila Leeson.

Meanwhile a team of volunteers is carrying out further research into various aspects of Wharton's colourful life. One of the team has recently been to Ghana following in the footsteps of Arthur and his family.
