Anti-Racism Action Week in Football

17th-30th October is Anti-Racism Week of Action in football, with hundreds of events taking place in the UK and across Europe, co-ordinated by the FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) network. The Week of Action falls within Black History Month, and Football Unites is co-ordinating the following activities to mark both events:

Friday 27th October. Arthur Wharton Memorial Football Tournament in under 14, under 16 and under 19 age groups. Sheffield United Academy, Firshill Crescent, Shirecliffe. 12noon to 4pm.

Saturday 28th October. Sheffield United v Chelsea. Activities in support of the Anti-Racism Week of Action in Football, including a fan choreography (an anti-racist message spelt out on cards to be held up by fans before the match) and a coaching demonstration by Football Unites coaches and young people.

Sheffield United FC, Bramall Lane, kick off 12.45pm.

Thursday 2nd November. ‘Creating Space’. Exploring truths and fallacies about Muslims. Conference aimed at non-Muslim professionals particularly teachers and youth workers. Marston Suite, Sheffield United FC, John Street, 3.00 -6.00pm. Contact us to book places.
