EURO 2008 might have been showcasing Europe's hottest talent but Sheffield is gearing up for its own multicultural tournament.
The All Nations Football Tournament is organised by Football Unites Racism Divides, in partnership with Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA, and takes place on Saturday July 19.
The popular seven-a-side tournament has been held for the past six seasons and is a superb way to get a new team off the ground.
One of the most successful sides to emerge from the tournament in recent years has been the African Dream Team.
Tournament organiser and FURD worker Desbon Bushiri explains.
"African Dream Team got together for the All Nations Football Tournament and then went onto compete in the Regional Alliance League. Last year they were champions of the Meadowhall Sunday League Division 3 and are now playing at their highest level so far.
"They're a good example of what a great tournament this is.
"Sometimes teams might not have enough players or might be short of coaches, managers or secretaries. The All Nations Tournament can help support that side of things and we're looking for teams to come forward and register."
The one day tournament takes place at Sheffield University pitches, Goodwin Sports Centre, Northumberland Road, Sheffield, between noon and 5pm.
"We have a lot of teams with asylum-seekers and refugees signed up but anyone can play. The aim is that we come together through football."
Last year a Chinese team, an Arabic team and a team of Polish players entered and it was won by Galeed Giants, a Liberian team with a Polish goalkeeper.
