This weekend, 23rd-24th June, as part of Refugee Week, FURD, in partnership with the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA , is staging the All Nations Football Festival at Goodwin Sports Centre, Northumberland Road, Sheffield. The festival includes a football tournament for refugees and asylum-seekers and a family fun day.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the All Nations tournament which aims to use football to help newcomers to the city to integrate and engage with their new community and to find a sense of belonging. It offers support, ideas and guidance on how newcomers and existing refugees can further their involvement in football.

The weekend kicks off with The Sheffield All Nations Q & A Conference from 9am to midday on Saturday. Representatives from the Football Association, refugee organisations, Sheffield City Council and other groups will be on hand to answer questions about football development. Team registration is at 9am with the tournament starting at 1pm.

On Sunday 24th, the tournament will continue between 11am and 4pm alongside family activities such as penalty shoot-outs, face painting, a bouncy castle, balloon making, henna painting and more. Food and drink will also be available.

Everyone is welcome to come along and there is still time for teams to enter. For more information, contact Asim or Desbon at FURD.
