As a community, it is our collective responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who uses this facility. We encourage all members of the public to remain vigilant and report any signs of potential harm or distress to others.
Here are some important guidelines to follow:
- Always stay alert for signs of abuse, neglect, or any behaviour that raises concern about someone’s well-being. This includes noticing physical harm, changes in behaviour, or expressions of distress.
- Never enter a room or facility alone, particularly if you are not authorized to do so. This is especially important if a vulnerable adult is present, to avoid any misunderstandings.
- If you have concerns about someone’s safety or well-being, report it immediately to the reception staff. They will follow the proper procedure to ensure that safeguarding measures are taken.
- In case of an emergency where there is an immediate risk of harm, please call emergency services right away (999/112) to ensure swift intervention.
- When reporting concerns, please be respectful of the confidentiality of the information you share. It is important to reassure the person sharing the information that it will be passed on to the appropriate safeguarding officer or relevant authorities.
- Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Please be aware that U-mix centre facilities are used by many vulnerable children and adults for a variety of activities.
