FURD is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to volunteer on a weekly basis at our girls-only homework club. This is based at the U-Mix Centre on Tuesdays from 4.30 to 6.30pm.

About you

We are looking for a passionate, creative and friendly person to help out regularly at our weekly homework club for 11-16 year old girls. You will be dedicated to improving outcomes for young people and will work one-to-one in a mentoring and supporting capacity.

This position is ideal for someone looking to gain essential experience in a secondary setting and to be able to qualify for jobs working with young people in the UK.

You will ideally have good literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to form positive relationships with young people and adults; and have a sense of humour and enthusiasm.

Previous experience of working with young people and children is desirable but not necessary as training will be provided.

The candidate will be subjected to an enhanced DBS check.
