Urban Smackdown - Music vs Crime

On Thursday June 26th FURD in partnership with Sheffield First for Safety is hosting an event to raise awareness about drugs and crime through music. Aimed at young people aged 13+, the event offers activities including DJ/MC workshops, breakdancing displays, t-shirt printing and graffiti workshops, DJs Rugged, Razor, Vital and Skillz, and displays of weapons seized by the police. Artists Jehst, Moorish Delta 7, Outdaville, Hoodz Underground, Big Critz, DJ Skully, DJ Riles and Multiverse 3 will talk about how music has kept them motivated and away from drugs and crime. Urban Smackdown runs from 2-6 at the Nelson Mandela Building in Sheffield city centre, is free entry, and anyone wanting to go should arrive by 2pm.

On that night at Po Na Na in Sheffield city centre is Urban Smackdown part 2, strictly for over-18s, from 9pm till late. Again it’s free and features performances from the artists above. Free CDs featuring the artists performing on the night will be available.
