Tariq Akhtar scored a hat-trick on Sunday as Sharrow United beat the Royal Hotel 3-0 in the quarter-final of the League Cup. They will meet either Heeley & Sheffield or Richmond in the semi-final, which is set for March 7th at the Davy McKee ground, Prince of Wales Road, Sheffield.
*(if driving along Prince of Wales Road towards Handsworth, get into the right hand lane and slow down as you approach the pedestrian crossing near Halsall Avenue (after the Parkway roundabout). Sharrow are currently 5th in the Regional Alliance Premier Division, but have four games in hand over the 4th placed team, the Nailmakers’ Arms, and are only a point behind.
