An estimated 2500 people attended the third joint SUFC/FURD Community Day, held at Bramall Lane on Sunday 21 April. Organisers were delighted with the numbers as the event was arranged in haste following a late decision by the club after a gap of almost 2 years.
Over 300 young people played in 6-a-side games on the pitch, with the Somali Blades winning the Community Cup after a 5-0 victory over the Chinese Prowlers.
The inside programme was full to bursting, with lots of special activities for younger visitors.
Special guests from the Ting-a-Ling project in Birmingham made many friends and further contact and games are planned between the two projects
