Nightmare ends for African Dream Team

The African Dream Team, managed by Larry Babs Mohamed, played their final match last Sunday, 27th March 2005. The team, in their first season in the Sunday Regional Alliance League, jumped into the deep end when they decided to take over Sharrow United´s place in the Premier division.

Unsuprisingly, the Dream Team have struggled, suffering several heavy defeats. Yet in their last match, against New Crown Handsworth, they finally hauled themselves out of the relegation places with a thrilling 5-3 win.

With rumours around that at least one team is leaving the Premier to join a separate league, hopes are high that the Dreamers will preserve their place in the top division.

The Dream Team now play their home fixtures at the excellent Caribbean Sports Club at Ecclesfield, thanks to successful grant applications to the lottery (Awards for All) and the Football Foundation.
