Nigerian international to attend first FURD Female Football Festival

Nigerian international Ayisat Endurance Yusuf-Aromire is to attend the centrepiece event of the FURD Female Football Festival on Saturday 5th March at the U-Mix Centre.

Ayisat, who is a board member with the Fare Network, the campaign to combat discrimination in football, will help out at the free girls coaching session, starting at 11.00am, and later that evening will speak after the film Balls, Barriers and Bulldozers, a documentary about womens football in Palestine.

Ayisat played for Nigeria in the World Cup and at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, where she had the opportunity to meet a number of world class players such as Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho. She originally moved to Scandinavia to play for Swedish and Finnish professional clubs.

Ayisat is originally from Nigeria though she now has dual nationality having lived in Finland for the past ten years. Now married with two children, Prince and Princess, Ayisat currently coaches young footballers as well as womens groups in Finland. She works closely with Finnish NGO Monaliikum which encourages immigrant women to be active in sports.
