Liban Abdi scores winning goal for Blades in Budapest

FURD protégé LIBAN ABDI celebrated his call-up to the Blades senior squad with the winning goal against Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

Liban's well-place header, following a Jon Stead cross in the 10th minute, proved to be enough as the Blades marked their new partnership with the famous old club with a friendly match in Budapest.

FURD coaches are thrilled at Liban's breakthrough, and are sure that he will act as an inspiration for young Somali footballers in Sheffield, many of whom attend FURD coaching sessions at the Academy.

This month has been extra-special for FURD's talent identification programme, with AYMEN TAHAR making his international debut for the Algerian Umder-21s.
