After impressing the coaching staff on his 6 week assessment period, Ayman Tahar has recently signed for SUFC Academy U15s after being recommended by Football Unites, Racism Divides head coach Luis Silva.

“Ayman is the type of player that we want at the Academy, he is skilful, has a good attitude to learning and loves working hard to improve”, said Academy coach Kevin Fogg.

“At the moment he is still what I call a ‘player’, in that we have not yet found a specific role for him, but going forward he is very exciting and very talented. We all hope that in the next 18 months that Ayman can get used to the pace of Academy football and continue to make progress”.

Ayman, who is of Algerian parents, has been attending FURD’s free Sunday afternoon coaching at the Academy for the last 12 months. “We invited Ayman to join in our Academy sessions after spotting him at a half-term tournament FURD organised in Netherthorpe”, said Luis Silva. “His confidence has grown and he is a great listener, who is willing to accept both criticism and praise”.

Ayman joins the same Academy squad as Kyle Walker, who five years ago was also recommended to the club by FURD coaching staff. For more details of Football Unites’ free coaching at the Academy contact Luis Silva or Desbon Bushiri on 0114 255 3156.
