A number of characters involved with FURD have been featured in a book and exhibition of local 'Football Stories'.

The exhibition of photo essays is on display in Sheffield's Winter Gardens until Sunday 25th September, with copies of the accompanying book available while stocks last at the exhibition. Copies are also being added to the FURD library.

The 'Football Stories' project was put together by lecturer David Forrest, photographer Gemma Thorpe and design company Eleven Design for the University of Sheffield's Festival of the Mind.

FURD is the focus of one of eleven portraits of Sheffield's grassroots football scene in an attempt to find out what football means to people and whether football is losing its soul.

The chapter on FURD features Asim, one of the founders of Sharrow United FC who now coaches Sharrow Under-11s, Hafsah and Ruth from our women's football project and our Belonging group for refugees and asylum-seekers.

The stories will be made available online after 25th September 2016 at the link below.
