Free football coaching with Sheffield United’s academy

18 Mar 2003 / News

Sheffield United have just opened their new £5million training facilities in Shirecliffe – and the good news for FURD is that the club is allowing us to base most of our community coaching sessions there.

The Hallam FM Academy @ Sheffield United was opened by the Minister for Sport Richard Caborn in December and it’s the first time in the club’s 114 year history that they’ve owned their own training grounds. Part funded by a grant from the Football Foundation, the facilities, described as ‘awesome’ by Sharrow United players, include four grass pitches, a full-sized, synthetic, floodlit pitch and an indoor hall.

Contact FURD on 0114 2553156 for details of free coaching sessions you can join – we’re currently running sessions on 5 days a week, with a variety of indoor and outdoor, junior and senior, daytime and evening sessions.
