Celebrate Black History Month with FURD

FURD has a programme of events lined up for Black History Month and the FARE `Football People` weeks of action. The events are nearly all free and all take place at the U-Mix Centre. All welcome.
Fri 3rd Oct, 6pm: Screening of Ali the movie. Free, with popcorn and drinks!
Fri 10th Oct, 6pm: Black history timeline and quiz. Free, with prizes!
Fri 24th Oct, 7pm: `Football Stories` event. Part of the Off the Shelf festival of words: Share your stories of why football matters to you and hear published authors Steven Kay, Matthew Bell and Laura Jones read from and discuss their work. See flyer. 2 quid on the door or free if you bring some writing to share
Sat 25th Oct, 12-4pm: `All Nations` football tournament aimed at refugees and asylum-seekers
Fri 31st Oct, 6pm: `Out of Africa`: documentary film, exhibition and speaker about the contribution of African footballers to professional football in the UK. Free.
