Last week we at Football Unites Racism Divides hosted our annual Belonging Together Cup 2024 - a tournament aimed at bringing people together from a range of different ethnicities and backgrounds. We had a fantastic day with over 100 people participating, representing teams from Leeds United, Hull Acorn FC, and several teams from Sheffield.

Every week we provide adult football sessions aimed at Refugees & Asylum Seekers. Many of them are residents staying at the hotel that was attacked by the far right in August.
This caused much distress to many people. We wanted to do something positive for people and show how people can come together in such a positive manner.

The day was a fantastic success with our very own BTFC winning the tournament with Acorn FC from Hull as very close runners up! One of our friends from Hull took home the individual fair play award while Sheffield based Un-Athletico won the team fair play award. Special shoutout to Namdi who won the player of the tournament award.

Special thanks to all of our staff and volunteers that worked tirelessly to ensure refreshments were available and the tournament ran smoothly.

We would also like to thank Sheffield MIND and Kitlocker for their continued support. Kitlocker very kindly provided prizes for the winners and runners up as well as match balls.
