Mehrun goes to Buckingham palace

May 2025 By Sijo

Our joint CEO Mehrun Ahmed had the pleasure and honour of representing FURD at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party on 7th May 2025.

Mehrun was nominated to attend in recognition of FURD’s contribution to community cohesion and tireless work supporting young people over the last 30 years. She said,

“Being invited to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party was a truly special moment — not just for me, but for everyone who’s been part of the FURD journey. It was a recognition of the work we’ve done together to challenge racism, build unity, and create spaces where young people and the community feel seen, heard, and empowered. I’m deeply proud of what we’ve achieved as a community, and moments like this remind me just how far we’ve come.”
